Angelica Leigh

Hello! My name is Angelica Leigh, Ph.D. and I am currently an Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

In my research I primarily investigate diversity/inclusion and emotions in the workplace. My research takes a dynamic approach to examining diversity in the workplace, and in doing so, I explore the often overlooked experiences and identities that alter the effects of diversity in organizations. Specifically, I research the influence of “mega-threats” – such as the deaths of Black people at the hands of police or other diversity related events – on racial minorities at work. I also study the influence of intersectionality on negotiations and other important work outcomes. Finally, I explore the influence of often overlooked emotions, such as grief, on individuals at work.

I am also very involved with the PhD Project organization, which is an organization dedicated to diversifying business school academia.
